Description:
Beautiful green and bronze beetle with a matte shell. About 3/4 inch in size. The legs are copper and bright metallic green. Adults are active in the day.
Habitat:
Elevation 3000+ ft, temperate mountain forest.
Notes:
Not to be confused with the Japanese beetle, or its cousin Cotinis mutabilis, which is found primarily in the southern US.
