Field Notes

Description:

Young Garter Snake, yellow line down the spine and checkered pattern follows, yellow fills everything that isn't dark. Black marks behind the jaw, and the top of the head is dark.

Habitat:

Found under a board with another Garter and a Northern Brown Snake.

Notes:

This energetic little guy did not like me hassling him, and he let me know that he's not one to be messed with. Now if he was a little bigger... I might be worried about him biting me. (:
