Description:

Well camouflaged during the roosting hours in the day, their calls during the night made it easier to spot and well, earn rewarding images too.
Easily confused with other species of Scops Owl like Indian and Collared due to their grey and rufous morphs, the calls made the ID spot on!

Habitat:

Sheveroy hills of Eastern Ghats of India. With plateaus from 4,000–5,000 feet (1,200–1,500 m) above sea-level, this range forms an important link in the southern part of Eastern Ghats hill chain.
