Field Notes

Description:

At first I thought this was Hemaris diffinis, but despite the blurry photo and fast speed of this moth, the black stripe through the eye and the black legs suggest H. diffinis.

Habitat:

Found nectaring Beebalm (Monarda sp.) in an open field near a pine and hemlock forest.

Notes:

Lifer!
