Field Notes

Description:

Found about 10 of these newts hidden under a tyre on the allotment next to mine. Not sure if they're smooth or palmate newts?

Habitat:

Allotment in Ipswich, suffolk. Hiding under a large old tyre used to keep a large piece of plastic sheeting down. The sheet has plenty of mini ponds in it with tadpoles. I suspect these have been their diet.
