Field Notes

Description:

This specimen was near the bus stop that I was. I took some pictures, and as I approached, stretched his neck and flew to another tree.

Habitat:

I found this specimen on the edge of a highway, in a region of transition between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest.

Notes:

In Brazil, it is also known as "Taiaçu"; from Tupi, "tai = scratched" and "açu = big".
