Interesting fact! Snakes possess an amazing ability to consume prey larger than their heads, and many people believe that they are able to unhinge their top and bottom jaws in order to do this. This is not true; however, the two halves of the lower jaw are not connected at the front, allowing them to swing away from one another and to work independently to pull food into the snake’s muscular throat. Snakes possess an extremely hard skull that protects them from brain damage when they clasp large thrashing animals in their jaws. Yeah I say! I've always felt weird about watching frogs being eaten because of their oddly lethargic nature while being eaten. What a find though!
