Description:

Micaria or Castianeira species.
This tan and brown, female, ant mimicking spider was running all around and without even breaking stride, she either dropped dead prey or laid an egg. I didn't see anything white in her mouth before it appeared. It continued running around and returned to the leaf where it left the white object. It ran towards me then returned to cover the white object to protect/defend it. She stayed there until I backed away. She then proceeded to run around and didn't return.

Habitat:

Unknown sapling in the backyard

Species ID Suggestions

Antmimic spider

Castianeira athena

Thank you Eric! I will update the spotting with a note saying it's tentative. It sure looks like it's correct :)
These are really tricky, so emphasis on "suggestion."
