I'm pretty sure I moved the larva to a different leaf so I could take a better picture of it, but it's been a year so I'm not sure. Will change to unknown
I believe that this is a different species. This is not feeding on White Pine. This looks more like one of the Common Sawfly species. It is notoriously difficult to identify many sawfly larvae. It would probably be best to leave this as an unknown. http://bugguide.net/node/view/340268/bgimage
I think my suggestion is not right... SM's 'unknown' link looks better and so does the plant.
