Field Notes

Description:

Brown banded Skipper. It is also called the Small Spurwing and has a distribution from southeast Mexico to Panama. The second picture is of a different individual photographed on 20 August 2013 in the same place. Family Hesperiidae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
