Description:

The genus Hermeuptychia comprises of 13 known species distributed variously from southern Texas to Bolivia, with the highest diversity of species in Peru.
Hermeuptychia hermes is the commonest and most widespread species in the genus, and also one of the most widespread of all neotropical Satyrines.

Habitat:

This species is found in open secondary forest, and forest-edge habitats, at elevations between sea level and about 1200m.
