Description:

Juvenile.

Habitat:

In a small clearing surrounded by deciduous woods.

Notes:

This is the closet I've got to a deer. I was about 30 feet away.

Lol, I'll bet. Good thing for us they don't realize the harm they could cause us if they used their antlers. They can be quite massive. I always get an adrenaline surge when I see something new or cool. Same thing happened when I saw the locust beetle today. I had only seen a few before and never got a pic. Got some today though! :)
it is a very overwhelming experience when you actually have a close encounter with wild life!A stag with big horns can be scary. I had a brief encounter with a mule deer stag and I almost stopped breathing!
Thank you for the kind words Jemma. I had my head down looking at some previous pics from the day. I got up from the rock I was sitting on and we were both equally startled. It seemed a little confused about whether to remain still or bolt. I'm also happy to finally get a halfway decent pic of one. Pretty good spotting day all around. New species for me, a deer and some other stuff. :)
