Description:

Apantesis nais, the Nais Tiger Moth, is a moth of the Arctiidae family. It was described by Drury in 1773. It is found from Quebec and Maine south to Florida and west to Texas and South Dakota.

The wingspan is 30-40 mm. Adults are on wing from April to October.

The larvae feed on various plant, including grasses, violets, plantain and clover.
