Description:

This is a southern African bird of uniform grey with a black beak. It has a distinctive call "quare", which sounds like "Go-away" - hence the name.

Its diet is mainly fruit (such as wild figs and berries), flowers, buds, leaves, termites, and snails.

Habitat:

Is widespread in savanna, woodlands, parks, farms and in the suburbs. Likes being near water.
