Description:

Ithomia is a genus of clearwing (ithomiine) butterflies, named by Hübner in 1816. They are in the brush-footed butterfly family, Nymphalidae.

The wings are translucent, with a wingspan of 5.6 to 6.1 cm (2.2 to 2.4 in)

Range is from SE Mexico through Panama.

Habitat:

I always found these butterflies in dark places... Deep in the forest, but often near the trails.

Nymphalidae, Danainae, Ithomiini, Ithomia patilla. Almost identical, but the venation on the hindwing is different in Greta morgane oto.
