Field Notes

Description:

I see this toad almost every night on my porch. I am almost sure it is an oak toad. Has a high risk of extinction or extirpation. Populations of these species are at very low levels, facing real threat, or occur within a very limited distribution. Immediate management is needed for stabilization and recovery.

Habitat:

The oak toad's natural habitat includes temperate forests and shrubland, intermittent freshwater lakes and marshes, arable and irrigated land, pastureland, ponds, canals, and ditches.
