Description:

This medium-sized moth is a female Cocalus Fruit Piercing Moth. It's wings resemble dry leaf to camouflage itself in it's natural habitat. The underwings however, display a striking yellow patch. Their wingspan is about 100mm (10cm). It's thorax is thick with hair with 2 "holes" seen in the last picture.

Habitat:

Have a small population of this species living in the forest of Sukau, Lower Kinabatangan, Sabah. Larvae live on Cocculus plants.
