Field Notes

Description:

Looking like a miniature wizard with a heavy cloak, this moth had a wingspan of about 30 mm. each forewing had broad jagged pale markings. Antennae were swept back.

Habitat:

Attracted to garden lights on a warm night.

Notes:

These moths are found along the eastern states of Australia and are said to have variable wing patterns. <br> The larva has a white head with four short stripes which gives it the common name "four eyes". <br>
