Field Notes

Notes:

A four-headed emu? : ) We saw this group by the roadside between Surat and Roma in Queensland. I have reversed the order of the photos in the series because I liked the way the last one looked with the large male (the father?) leading the smaller birds away from the threatening photographer. Not that I presented much threat in real terms... even the smallest bird was taller than me and they may be flightless but they can run like the wind!
