Description:

This wood stork was on the brink of death when he arrived at SOS. he couldn't stand or even hold his head up. We believe he was poisoned by toxins that were put in the gulf after the oil spill. After a few weeks he could stand and eat on his own! I believe he was released.

The Wood Storks have always been some of my favorite birds. Although they aren't the cutest or most cuddly on land when they are in the air they are one of the most beautiful and elegant flyers. Nice spot.
