@okiegirl I know these are C. serpentina because they hatched from a clutch I had the pleasure of watching the mother lay. Also, we are far too north of C. temminckii's range. I wish we had them though, I love those guys! @Apple Good eye! We ended up releasing eleven hatchlings there as they collected in front of our door...
I see the last picture has four of them.
That looks more like an alligator snapping turtle hatchling. http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&newwindow=1&sa=N&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=648&tbm=isch&tbnid=ue16bZmdGf1C4M:&imgrefurl=http://nhanimals.wikifoundry.com/page/Team%2BSnapping%2BTurtle&docid=nCkyLNHypb3bSM&imgurl=http://darkhammockturtles.com/images/Snappers.jpg&w=432&h=324&ei=JrkiUv6jENK2sQSTkIFI&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:16,s:0,i:129&iact=rc&page=2&tbnh=189&tbnw=259&start=15&ndsp=22&tx=147&ty=103
