Description:

Imagine going to find some food, only realizing you ARE the food! This bee, (is it Apis mellifera, or an Adrena?) has ben attacked by a Jagged Ambush Bug of the family Reduviidae, the genus Phymata. Look at the huge mandibles encompassing the head of the bee!

Habitat:

Found on what I think was catnip (Nepeta sp.).

Notes:

Photo two shows how I saw it at first, with the ambush bug barely visible!!
