Field Notes

Description:

Theritas is a genus of gossamer-winged butterflies (family Lycaenidae) found in the Neotropics.

Theritas species are large among the Eumaeini but altogether still smallish butterflies

Notes:

This butterfly was very hard to photograph due to the reflections on the wings. The wings glittered like gold in the sunlight.

Thanks Jakubko. It really sparkled a gold-ish colour, and I think it was green underneath.
Gorgeous! This loos like a species of Theritas to me, and T. crines looks like the best match to me, although the specimens look more green in the link. Was this moth iridescent green/gold?
