Field Notes

Description:

This species has a fine hair-like tail on the trailing edge of the hind wing. There is a small orange mark near the base of each tail. Males are blue above and females are mainly brown. Small butterfly - 3/4 to 1 1/8 inch in size.

Notes:

Caught this little guy during our monarch tagging event at Devil's Lake State Park.
