Description:

House Finch
The average House Finch can grow to be about six inches in length. During the winter some northern house finches appear to migrate south. On a male the upper chest, rump, and front of the head are usually red, but can vary between orange and the rare yellow. The belly is white with dark streaks making the color gray to appear when not studied carefully. The back is brown with similar dark streaks as the belly. The population of the house finch is wide spread all over the country and south into Mexico.
