Description:

The Eacles imperialis normally are yellow with pinkish-brown to purple-brown patches, bands, and spots. They have a wing-span from 3 1/8 to 6 7/8 inches. Females are normally larger than males.

Habitat:

The Eacles imperialis mostly resides in deciduous and evergreen forests.

I spotted this Imperial Moth on my front porch at home in Toano, Virginia.
