Description:

You learn something everyday....
Indian pipe, AKA ghost flower, aka, corpse plant, is a flower and not a mushroom. It feeds off of certain mushrooms and the roots of certain trees. It is known that they use Russula mushrooms and Lactarius mushrooms, as well as American Beech trees. This plant is a parasite and does not produce its own chlorophyll.

Habitat:

They require certain trees and specific fungus to feed from. They do not require light, and can only survive in constantly moist environments.
