Description:
Black body, bright blue tail with red spots along upper wings.
Habitat:
inhabit open woodlands and forest edges in the eastern half of the U.S., with some isolated populations in Ariz. and N. Mexico.
Notes:
Adults feed on sap, rotting fruit, carrion, dung, and sometimes nectar from privet, viburnum, spirea and others.
