Field Notes

Description:

Small white Leaf Beetle with thin stripes and an orange thorax, 6 mm long.
Family Chrysomelidae, Subfamily Galerucinae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.

Notes:

Although found in the same place and superficially similar to spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/37919008/fullscreen, this one is white with thin stripes and smaller, at only 6 mm. Both are probably species of Disonycha of the leaf skeletonizing leaf beetles.
