Habitat:

Seen in Himalayan mountains. Blooms from late winter throughout early summer.

I think this is a Poinsettia not Rhododendron. Check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poinsettia Rhododendron have proper flowers...the red leaf-like things in your spotting are bracts; not flowers.
