Description:

The Mountain avens is an arctic-alpine plant in the Rosaceae family. The flowers have eight creamy white petals - hence the species name octopetala. In Iceland, where it is the national flower, it flowers in May and June.

Habitat:

Notes:

The plant's actual leaves are not the ones seen on the foreground, but can bee seen at the back on the top and right edge on the 3rd shot.
