Field Notes

Notes:

This morning this moth was stuck to me classroom window screen. It was pretty cold and the critter was slow, so I carefully picked it off the screen and carried it to each classroom and had the kids carefully hold it on the back of their hand. It was the last day of school and they were captivated. After the moth warmed up and started to flutter, we took it outside and released it. It was a memorable day!

Confirmed ID by Butterflies and Moths of North America.
