Field Notes

Notes:

The gender has me a bit confused (no puns here). The specimen is large enough to be a female but has the antenna I would expect in a male. While I am satisfied this one is A. acuta I am not so sure of this one http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/21340102.

I was correct. This is not A. acuta. the CSIRO references show it as A. phaeodesma

Species ID Suggestions

I changed the identity of this one. It is not A. acuta. The CSIRO has quite a good online listing for moths and I had found another a few days back
Sure looks male with those complex radar dishes on board. Fabulous Aussie shades of brown. Nice find. Quite a big moth too.
