Field Notes

Description:

Back with deep gills underneath. With very soft spongy flesh. about 3.5" to 4" wide cap with a depression in the middle. The gills are adnexed from the stalk but attached. I can't see any rings on it.

Habitat:

Coastal pine forest. Near lodgepole pine. Near after a rain.

Notes:

Very abundant here
