Field Notes

Description:

Chrysomelidae; Galerucinae; Luperini; Aulacophora; Aulacophora lewisii Baly, 1886. There are several Chrysomelids which are very similar to this beetle, but the elytra (wing covers) on this one never quite manage to completely cover the posterior of the abdomen and that is a useful identifier.

Habitat:

This Cucurbit Leaf Beetle was spotted in the rice mill backyard, on a banana leaf.
