Description:

The Yellow-edged Giant Owl (Caligo atreus) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. The species can be found from Mexico to Peru.

The wingspan is 140–160 mm..

Adults feed on juices of rotting fruit.

Habitat:

The species can be found in the rainforests and secondary forests of Mexico down to the Amazon rainforest.
