Description:

This butterfly is primarily yellow with black tiger stripes, hence the name. This one has a wingspan of approximately 3.5 to 4 inches.

Habitat:

Eastern Tiger Swallowtails are found all over, most commonly around water, meadows, gardens, and parks.

Notes:

When hatched, the caterpillars look like bird poop as part of their natural camouflage to protect them from predators.
