Description:
Orange moth with white spots outlined in black. This one has a metallic blue necklace (5th picture). This moth has a very large distribution and shows quite a bit a variability in spot patterns throughout its range. The hind wings vary from light to dark smoky grey. 1 cm long. Family Yponomeutidae.

Habitat:
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
Notes:
Pictures 2 through 6 were taken on 27 July 2014 in the same place.
If you look at this specimen spotted by k.andrews from Providence, Rhode Island, you can compare some differences at both ends of its range.
