Superuseful!!!! I found the species of my today's spotting in it, too :) They both are somewhere there :) I checked my list and in Latvia there is only Z. carniolica, because I'm too much in North. So maybe you have both?! ;)
Oh nice to know it's useful. So we have these species in Northern Europe!? Too bad didn't find them.
I took that field guide from the library :)) and this was the only species there, so I looked at the site you put in the suggestion (encyclopedia of life) and tried to find the differences between these two - it was hard :D They really have amazing antennae!
Yes, you are right here, thanks for correcting me! There is the red line which is missing in Z. carniolica. But to me the most characteristic look the antenna, the one I sugested has more beautiful antenna :). And your ID is definitely the right one.
The only difference I could find between Z. fausta and Z. carniolica is the line's colour just behind the head. Z. fausta has red, Z. carniolica has white, so it looks more like Z. fausta. Am I missing something? :)
Please, check the location!! Valais is not Paris ;-)...
