Description:

Very small ground-cover plant, growing in close proximity to mosses near the edge of a pond. Has seriously tiny, white flowers I didn't even see until I downloaded the camera ... see third photo, where a fallen pine needle will give you an idea of the scale.

Added two update photos taken Oct. 13, 2013. They show the plant's willingness to grow into the water. Also the mid-September photos show a few narrow green filaments on the surface ... by mid-October, there were many more of them.
That's really pretty interesting, Leuba. There is a "family resemblance" ... the leaves in your link are jagged, where mine are smooth-edged, but it's definitely worth following up on. Thanks for the lead!
