Field Notes

Description:

This finch has an average size of 11,5 cm. It has a strong big conical beak. The male is mostly black although it has a small white patch in the wing (see third picture). Primary internal feathers are also white at the base.
Female shown in next spotting.

Habitat:

Usually found in bushy and grassland areas where it feeds on grains, fruits and insects.
