here the 2 spotted, 9 spotted and transverse ladybugs are rare. They were not 20 yrs ago. http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/pr/2008/080918.htm
I didn't know, here are very common and useful for biological control of Aphids and other small insects, my kids from school found this one in school garden and they were very confused when they counted only two spots :)
2 spotted are considered rare out here.
