Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful small (24mm) moth like a hanging leadlight lampshade with a glow in the centre. A thick chocolate coloured mane and plain French grey hind wings.

Habitat:

Found in leaf litter in daytime under the night lights at the local school.

Notes:

Family: Geometridae
Subfamily: Ennominae
Genus: Nisista
Species: Nisista serrata
Citation: Walker, 1857
