Description:

Went back tonight with a better camera ... may even be the very same moth. I like that Virginia Creeper is one of this moth's host plants, because I have creeper in my collection. Connects the dots. Here's the creeper link: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/28450460. Full circle ... cool.

Went back tonight with a better camera and got new photos. Left one bad cell phone pic from last night. Thanks very much, eelhsamarie for the ID ... and it's kind of cool that one of the main host plants for this moth is also in my collection!
Y'know, something happens to photos taken with mobile phones. Even if you email them to yourself and then upload to PN from a laptop. Gonna have to investigate that ... at any rate, thanks very much, dotun55!
This is Sphinx moth or hawk moth (Sphingidae). No idea about the exact species. The real pros would be here real soon, never mind. This is a good mobile phone spotting by the way!
