Field Notes

Description:

Interesting bug about 8mm long; large scutellum; shiny black elytra with slight venation; a pale section at the rear; Very spiny and hairy legs.

Habitat:

Exploring the crevices in a timber retaining wall in a suburban back yard.

Notes:

Quite speedy and purposeful in it's explorations.

Hey thanks for that Jopy. So it is a real bug - no wonder it looked somewhat like the shield bugs. A new group to read about.
