Description:

This is an unidentified Parasitic Wasp that i found on the jack-fruit tree in my backyard. This wasp is greyish in color, and it has orange hind-legs. The size of this wasp is about 8 mm in length

Habitat:

- Spotted on the jack-fruit tree in my backyard.

Notes:

- I hope, someone can help me to ID this wasp.

Actually it should be a spider wasp, Pompilidae, Pepsinae, assuming Chun and me are on the right track ;-)

I'm guessing it is an Auplopus sp. or a close genus.

I have seen them visiting Euphorbia milii flowers. Looks like they feed on pollen too.

This one is so wild/ active. These are the only pictures that i can snap...

John LaSalle will for sure have the family and genus ready, maybe even the species, since it tis quite a distinctive one: silvery body and red femurs, short antennae. I am very shyly thinking of Spheciformes, Sphecidae??
