Their shell looks a bit like full on armor to me
Habitat:
Freshwater ponds, lakes, or streams. Some will be in brackish environments. They are omnivores but are more aquatic scavengers.
Notes:
Chelydra = tortoise in Greek
Serpentina = snake, referring to long tail.
