Hi Smith Zoo! I just love this series. Your insect, however, looks to be an Antlion, Family Myrmeleontidae rather than a Dragonfly. I am unfamiliar with the species in your area so I can't help you much more than that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antlion
