Field Notes

Description:

Dainty little vine with flowers, I suspect are in the "pea" family. THIS particular specimen was crawling along the ground, but I saw others twining up any available stems, just like a pea vine would.

Flowers were at most 3/4". Leaves compound, with 3 leaflets.

Habitat:

Along the roadside of an oak scrub habitat, Rt. 11 (off of 40), just beside the public shooting range in Ocala National Forest.

Notes:

Wish I could have stayed longer there, but too many gunshots made it so noisy, and the smell of gunpowder was a bit strong for me. (it only takes one person with really really bad aim, or someone having a really really bad day....)

So this coward left the area ASAP. :o
