Field Notes

Description:

Small, 5 mm, metallic green fly. It is on a Swollen Thorn Acacia but the ants haven't found it yet. This is most likely a Soldier Fly of the family Stratiomyidae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
